We’re excited to announce that Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is now available in the St. Louis area at the National Equestrian Center in Lake Saint Louis, MO.
What is Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)?
EAL is an experiential learning program where small groups of 5 to 10 participants work unmounted with horses. This means participants lead horses on foot, using lead ropes, through structured exercises designed to develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
EAL provides participants with a unique opportunity to gain self-awareness, improve collaboration, and build insight through powerful interactions with horses.
Why Horses?
Horses have an extraordinary ability to sense the unspoken. While pets like dogs may respond to our moods, horses take perception to another level. As prey animals, they rely on their heightened senses to detect subtle changes in their surroundings, including the emotional and energetic states of people.
When someone approaches a horse, the horse’s reaction often reflects that person’s energy, emotions, and intentions. This immediate, honest feedback is what makes horses such powerful partners in team-building and personal development. Trained EAL facilitators interpret these responses and guide participants toward greater self-awareness, effective communication, and authentic leadership.
